This is a Pathe newsreel from 1963 shows the beginning Beatlemania



Over the next three years The Beatles have incredible success. Their records top the charts in the UK in 1963. In 1964 screaming crowds greet tbem in the USA. Japan, the Phillipines and all the western European countries fall under their spell.

All across the world young people are putting up Beatles posters. Back in their home cityl 'She Loves You' is sang by the football crowd at Anfield, Liverpool.

Two films A Hard Day's Night (1964) and Help! (1965) are enormous commercial and critical successes..

At one point The Beatles have the top five singles at the top of the USA Billboard chart. And there appeal is not just to teenagers. Brian Epstein has carefully built their image as 'family entertainers' .
