1968
The Beatles spent
the early part of 1968 with the Maharishi in India. It was
not a happy experience. Though George was becoming
increasingly interested in Indian religion the others did
not enjoy their stay with the Maharshi. They came back to
England angry and upset.
The White
Album
Soon after their return, The
Beatles launched their own company, Apple Corps. But the
the tension inside the band was obvious when they went back
into Abbey Road Recording Studio to record
The Beatles
(known
as 'The White Album' because of its cover).

Ringo Starr walked out after an argument. He stayed away
for two weeks. On several tracks the drums are played by
McCartney.
